![]() The Bluegrass Regional Recycling Corporation was founded in 1990 and is a 501-C3 non profit organization. The BRRC is dedicated to the enhancement of regional recycling efforts through research, education, and implementation. Among its services are consultation, education, training, system design, marketing, site clean-ups, and recycling. The BRRC was designed as a cooperative to serve its affiliates, including local governments. By collecting and processing a large amount of recyclable materials, each affiliate benefits. Small rural citites and counties do not have the volume to demand high market returns. Collectively, affiliates can produce large volumes that produce
large returns.
Besides getting a return on the sale
of recyclable materials at the
market, government affiliates save
money through diversion-the cost of
dumping solid waste into a landfill. Market conditions call the shots on
quality specifications. The
BRRC has established open lines of
communication and solid working
relationships with all commodity
markets, allowing the BRRC to make
adjustments to meet and surpass
current market standards. The
BRRC produces high quality materials
and earns the title "preferred
supplier" from many markets.![]()
